October 2026 Journal Prompts

October Journal Prompts | @ DPCDigitals

October has a way of making us want to slow down, settle in and enjoy the season, but it can also be a great time to check in with yourself. These journal prompts were created to help you do a little of both. You’ll find that each week has a different focus, beginning with what deserves more of your time and attention right now. There are no rules for working through them. Answer one each day, choose a few that stand out or simply come back to the list whenever you feel like spending a little time with yourself. By the end, you’ll have more than a collection of journal entries – you’ll have a snapshot of what mattered to you, what you enjoyed and what you want to carry forward.

WEEK ONE: More of What Matters

Make room for what you want more of in your days.

  • What would I love to say I did by the end of October?
  • What deserves more of my attention right now?
  • Where could I give myself a little more grace?
  • What have I been putting off that would feel good to finally do?
  • What is something I want to do just for me?
  • What can I take off my plate this month?
  • What habit would I like to return to?
  • What is working well in my life right now?
  • What part of my routine could use a little reset?
  • What is one small change that would improve my days?

WEEK TWO: A Little More Me

Focus on making yourself a priority.

  • What always puts me in a better mood?
  • What is something I genuinely love doing alone?
  • What hobby would I love to spend more time on?
  • What is my favorite way to recharge?
  • What does my perfect free evening look like?
  • What is one thing I could do for myself this week?
  • What is something I want to try purely because it sounds fun?
  • What is something about myself I’ve learned to appreciate?
  • What do I wish I gave myself permission to do more often?
  • What is one promise I’d like to make to myself?

WEEK THREE: Shake Up the Routine

Fun, curiosity, spontaneity, and making ordinary days more interesting

  • Where could I go that I’ve never been before?
  • What could I do differently this week just to mix things up?
  • What is something I’ve always wanted to learn?
  • What would make an ordinary weekday feel special?
  • What is something nearby I’ve always wanted to check out?
  • What is something I’ve never tried because it felt outside my comfort zone?
  • What is a new food or recipe I’d like to try?
  • What is something I’ve wanted to do but keep waiting for someone else to do with me?
  • Where haven’t I been lately that I’d love to revisit?
  • What’s one thing I want to do before October is over?
